It is with great sadness that WAITTA acknowledges the passing of Bruce Wilson OAM, a long-term stalwart of the information technology industry, the Australian Computer Society (ACS), WAITTA, and the AIIA iAwards.
Bruce passed away late December 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and passion for the IT profession.

Bruce was a valued and long-standing member of the WAITTA and The INCITE Awards communities. He gave his time and commitment across various roles and committees over many years, helping to shape the future of the industry. As an early member of the WAITTA committee, Bruce was instrumental in many of the decisions made in the early days, including the establishment of rules and procedures around judging. His contributions were invaluable, and his counsel and advice were always worth listening to.
Bruce made many amazing contributions to the information technology industry both in Western Australia and nationally. He brought tremendous passion and dedication to the IT profession, always seeking to bring out the best in others. Bruce was someone you could always rely on for assistance, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.
Bruce was farewelled by loved ones and peers at St Aidan's Uniting on 7 January 2025. Our thoughts are with Bruce's family during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Bruce.
