Connect South West, Ocean Broadband and Broadband Net have been working together to roll out new broadband infrastructure to the South West region of Western Australia.

Connect South West is the lead organisation in the South West in relation to Broadband demand aggregation and then working with suppliers to roll out new infrastructure to meet the identified demand

Ocean Broadband and Broadband Net are both wireless broadband couriers who are working with CSW in rolling out new infrastructure.

The South West Wireless Broadband Project has 3 key components.

1. Gather demand
Connect South Wests Community Broadband Aggregation Broker has worked with the communities in the South West to, firstly educate the community in the benefits and then aggregates and maintains a register of interest for broadband services. This demand register has more than 2500 expressions of interest from people across the region.

2. Negotiate with providers
Once the demand had been secured, Connect South West then undertook an expression of interest process which resulted in selecting Broadband Net and Ocean Broadband to deliver services to the identified communities. Providers were selected to provide a strategic approach to there roll out of infrastructure ensuring that natural corridors across the region are capitalized on, this has enabled the service providers to develop their own backhaul solutions

3. New infrastructure & Service Delivery
The wireless service providers (Broadband Net and Ocean Broadband) then went onto develop new infrastructure in the way of wireless towers, backhaul solutions and wireless hotspots to deliver a range of broadband services to many South West communities for the first time.
