The City of Bunbury is responsible for providing services and facilities for Bunbury, Australia's 28th largest City. With an annual growth rate of 3.4%, Bunbury is Australia's 3rd fastest growing city, with population projected to grow from 50,500 to 130,000 by 2030. Bunbury is also the regional capital for the South West region of WA, supporting export trade via the port facility, and hosting regional centres for healthcare, and Tertiary education.
The City of Bunbury operates two public libraries, one in the CBD, and one in the suburb of Withers, and engaged Sinclair Knight Merz, a leading Engineering Consultancy, as project partner to provide technical expertise and project management to assist the City's library, in conjunction with librarians from the other 13 Local Governments in the South West region, to envisage, define and deliver the South West Electronic Library.
