RelMS is a software development and sales company targeting the worldwide furniture, removals and transport industry.
There are around 9,000 removal companies in Australia, and around 28,000 companies in North America. With thousands of similar firms in Britain, Europe and South East Asia, RelMS has a large prospective export market. Every company is a prospective client for the software as each requires its own licensed copy with ongoing technical support.
There is as yet little competition for RelMS, with nothing the Albany developers have yet located world-wide as sophisticated and comprehensive as the locally developed product. Similar products to date have been limited to crude inventories taken on a palm pilot. The target market has long-held traditional work practices but has moved easily on to using the World Wide Web and most large moving firms have web sites. It is feasible that target customers will have had enough exposure to online technology to quickly adapt to RelMS. Online quoting is becoming popular, for example. However this relies on the client filling in the quote form themselves and so quotes are only estimates pending further follow-up. Large and complex removal jobs need a sales representative on-site to view the premises and provide a firm assessment.
